Buffalo...if that is your real name... :-)
I wish I was a smooth talker,
the reason for the advertising is growing the business, any self employed
person would tell you that.
I have been advertising since day one, if nobody knows about you and your
business, how would they know to call you??
people look in the yellow pages, listen to the radio and watch TV, maybe you
have even seen or heard a commercial??
when you need to have something fixed and you don't know anybody that fixes
what is broken what do you do??
I am also in a very competitive area, the listing for computer repair in my
area in the yellow pages contains I would say a hundred maybe more computer
shops.
I do get more referrals than I do from advertising, but that just happened
two years ago or so,
until then I did not have a customer base large enough to be busy every day.
If your were self employed you would understand.
My father for instance is a contractor (carpentry) and has never advertised,
but his business for the first ten years was very slow,
My mother also self employed (cosmetologist) bought a pre existing shop and
with the shop came the customers, but she also advertised, she was very
successful. which is good because my dad's business was slow back then..
but I don't know why I'm explaining myself to you, it does not matter
I work about 25 hours a week (billable hours, really more like 50 hours) at
60 bucks an hour (give or take), OK 54 bucks an hour for senior and military
(10 percent discount)..
I am doing very well and I don't care what some newsgroup person thinks...
most of the critics are just drunken Trolls anyway..

I am a member of the NRA,
