Downgrade Toshiba A200 to Win XP pro

I just purchased a Toshiba A200 laptop computer (model A205-S5880) and I would like to downgrade from Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP1 to Windows XP Professional.

Is this a simple operation which can be handled by a novice? I can follow step by step instructions and have installed HDD's and Video Cards.

    Can you help?

    Thanks in advance

you will need a windows xp disc, probly want xp sp2, and drivers for windows xp I found some info mentioning that you need to boot into the bios setup and find the hard drive controller and set it from ahci to "compatible" however, you may also be able to use an external floppy drive and the windows xp installation option to include additional drivers, I think it's F6 to load scsi/raid drivers from a floppy.. OR create a slipstreamed xp instal disc that replaces the default windows xp "trusted" chipset driver with the toshiba ahci xp sata driver. You may also want to contact their customer support staff to ask if they have any chipset/model specific drivers for windows xp downgrading.

You're welcome, sorry there isn't much detail into this. I recommend backing up all your important data/photo's that you may have created/stored on the laptop in question, while using vista, prior to downgrading. Some application data may not be compatible with the previous versions of your applications that work with xp rather than vista.

There's a couple posts found via searching google.com for downgrading a toshiba satallite to xp, but it wasn't your particular model, that is why I suggested contacting toshiba's customer support.
