    Norton 2002 - can't uninstall

Can anyone help me uninstall NAV 2002? When I try to do it through add/remove programs it "fatals" because of a problem with NAV.MSI, which I can't find anywhere on my computer.

    Please help.

    Thank you

Do you have the original install disk? If so, reinstall it then uninstall. After you do that then do a File search for anything Norton, and then repeat for anything Symantec.

    Lightbulb

Or, if you are looking for a cleaner uninstall, you could try the Rnav2003.exe removal utility midway down the linked page below.
Symantec has a ton of info and support for uninstall problems on their site. . . .

    Unfortunately

I don't have the original install disk.

When I try to uninstall through add/remove programs, I'm missing NAV.MSI or some such and cannot finish the uninstall.

The link provided goes to a site with more links, none of which are functional any longer.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

Thanks for the "heads up" on the dead link. It's been a while since I ran into a NAV uninstall post. You're right . . . . They sure don't make it easy to get the needed info or uninstall tool!

Glad you got it sorted out

See, Symantec doesn't want you to remove their product. SO

when you try to open a link referring to an obsolete version such as 2002, it redirects you to a page which only allows for you to download and subscribe to a more current version of their product (which, given the invasive nature and manipulative sales tactics of the company, does not appeal to me!)

    spoke too soon

I got it out, thank you.

I downloaded the RNAV tool from Majorgeeks and it worked.

Thank you so much for your kind assistance,
