Stopped on the way home to get some pics of some deer in the orchard and this little guy was currious enough to get within 60 feet of me.

WOW. It's not very often they get that close. AWESOME picture though!

Truly an amazing picture! My 7 year old grandson would be thrilled.
It was pretty exciting, usually they just run away, lately they've been stopping and looking/ walking towards me, they only seam to run away when someone else comes down the road, or when someones dog gets out.. One time they walked across the road right infront of me after I parked and got out to take pics, they were much closer that time. same time I took the picture I posted in your thread..
I saw two spikes and and 3 or four others today that might be mama doe with the young one in this picture, same deer same spot, 2-3 years in a row this one is funny, when it's not paying attention to something, it sticks it's ears down kinda like a lop eared rabbit.
Couple more pics from the other day:
First pic I think is the mother of the fawn from the previous post. It was following the little one
I can't tell, other than it doesn't have antlers, except for a patch of fur missing from it's neck that might indicate a female that had a rough mate. It does have a nice tan, compared to the spikes that I saw today. Any idea? male/female?
Second pic is of the little one, a little further away, before it decided to check me out.
Very nice shots! Thanks
Thanks for the comments! I'm going to try and get photos of the young bucks soon![]()
No bucks tonight, but I got a nice shot of the doe and fawn laying in the orchard.
another shot with slower shutter, bracing the camera against the car![]()
Different pair of deer this time, mother didn't have the notched ear and the fawn was a little bigger, less grey, and didn't hold it's ears down. Here's a picture of the fawn![]()
Wow...nice pictures!! Made my mouth all watery...I must be hungry!!
