    newbie needs torrent help

not sure if this the right place to get help. maybe someone can point me in the right dirrection.
I downloaded Bitorrent, and when I try to use it, it's waaaayyyy slow. Files of 2 or 3 MB show a eta of many days. only 1 or 2 kb/s.
I was under the impression these things would load large files quickly.
    Any ideas?

Hello, although we don't provide support for filesharing here, there could be several reasons for the slow downloads. I'm thinking the main reason is the source of the file. If the file is located on another computer accross the internet, it will be limmited to the speed at wich the source can upload. Think dialup or overloaded 256k. If more than one person is downloading the source file off a broadband connection it will be roughly devided between the number of people downloading it etc..

Try downloading Utorrent and check if you are receving incoming connection. It will tell you how during setup. If you are port forwarding it will also help you do it.

Make sure you are getting the torrents from a well known source. Not sure about the rules here so I wont name any.
