Hi, most of the stuff that gets loaded into memory, as you use them, may stay there "cached" like you said, staying warmed up. It's OK if they don't change in size. It's pretty common for programs to not unload some files from ram when they are closed, but it can be troublesome IF they fill up memory.
I'll look into what kind of memory upgrade you could get for your laptop.
For now, don't worry about the files and their memory usage in task manager, until you get the low virtual memory error.
The event viewer errors can be missleading at times, and can get confusing when trying to deal with a specific issue. If you are not having issues loading windows and running your applications, doing work on your system etc.. you can pretty much ignore the event viewer.
I don't want to stray away from the virtual memory issue, until we find out WHY it happened.
