Thanks for the additional information: some other things I'm wondering is what you were doing with the system and what applications were running when you get these errors.

Look at this as a process of elimination. checkdisk "surface scan" do not automatically fix errors. This is a full drive surface scan, to check the integrity of your hard drive, so that it's reporting the correct size, capacity, and that all sectors are able to be written too error free etc.. If it turns up any errors, make note of any errors and post them here.

If the disk scan turns up OK no erros, no bad sectors, perhaps your application is using up alot of system resources, and physical ram page sectors that windows needs to run are getting over-written by the application... IF your application/s are NOT being used when this error occurs, it could be faulty memory, or some such thing. Let me know if any of this is helping.

Can you download and install/run hijackthis? post me up your log, but don't fix anything, thanks.

??? It should say save log file after you select scan, click on that, remember where the log file is saved, then copy and paste the text of that log file into your next response here..

There shouldn't be anything called explorer exc on your computer, are you sure it's not explorer.exe?

Can you make a note of the exact error message, word for word, letter for letter and post it here?

the error message is as follows. explore exe. has generated errors and will be closed by windows. you will need to restart the program. an error log is being created. gray box in the middle of the screen with blue logo banner that says program error warning will robinson warning warning ha ha are you old enough to know who that is??
then another pop up end program this program is not responding. to return to windows and ck the status of the program click cancil. if you choose to end the program immediately you will loose any unsaved.............

i know you want me to post the results. i dont know how

LOL, yeah one of my old favorite sci-fi flicks, danger will hehe.. You have PM regarding the hijack this log help request.

The warning message created a log file that may show something like stop error with some consecutive numbers and letters, it is a hex code that can be used to help identify a probable cause of the error based on searching for that stop error at support.microsoft.com

If you can open this error log and copy the text and code of the message and paste here, that would be great.
