    At least no-one travelling to China can be unaware that they're
    entering a police state.

    That said, the Chinese are doing little more than the govt here in the
    UK has been working towards for years. In fact, per head of
    population, the UK already has much more surveillance than China -
    personal privacy is treated with contempt by the govt. And we're
    supposed to be living in a 'free' country.
