Remote Support Access to my PC

I recently had a problem with my PC. Hewlett-Packard Technical Support
convinced me to give them remote access to my PC. I used MSIE to go to
the H-P website, where I downloaded and installed an Active-X utility.
Vista and Spybot were giving me warnings left and right, but I overrode
    them.

H-P Tech support then solved my problem. I was very impressed with
them. However, I am now concerned about that utility that I had
    installed.

Any advice? Do you think that Spybot will rediscover it on my next scan
    so I can remove it?

You should have listened to them!

Get rid of that program asap.

Good recommendation. While you are at it uninstall HP's updating
software. It is unsecure and seldom needed.

Yes... It has vulnerabilities and possibly has been exploited.
