ABU.EXE still showing up, did you have hijack this fix it? did it come back on it's own?

PDVD app is "power dvd" there should be an option in the power dvd control/config to disable power dvd at startup as well as play automatically with the insersion of disc. This {should} turn off the PDVD thing running in the background. You will have to manually execute powerdvd from the start menu when you want to watch a dvd.

can you go to http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html and do an online virus scan.
You may get an "ACTIVE X" prompt at the top of your browser, temporarily allow the active x controls for that site, then allow it to install, run the scan, make note of any warnings/deleted files, the let us know what it finds.
