    moz_mapi folder

    Hi, Folks,

I did a Google search on deleting this folder from my TEMP folder and wound up here.

I'm using Windows 2000 and here is my problem.

What is happening is that the moz_mapi folder keeps repeating itself under the Temp folder over and over until I have a list of 14 TEMP/moz_mapi folders.

In the last one is all the Temp files and folders.

Everything can be deleted except the moz_mapi folder and when I return all the other files and folders are still there.

I get a box indicating an Error

    "ERROR deleting file or folder"

Cannot delete Page_H~1.php. Cannot find specified file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file name.

Could someone give me some indication as to how to get rid of this and what caused it in the first place.

If I'm in the wrong forum, please pardon my ignorance and point me in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance

    Bill

First of all since this is in a temp folder try downloading CCleaner
Install it but don't run it yet.
    Now reboot to Safe Mode
Once you are booted in Safe Mode then run a DEFAULT scan with CCleaner. Have it analyze and then have it clean whatever is found. See if that removes it.
Reboot to normal mode and see if it is gone.

    Thanks, JH,

Ran the program and it got rid of it.

Don't know how it got there but CCleaner removed 271 items.

I run Spybot, AdAware and Norton Ant-Virus - thought I was protected but I guess not from everything.

    Again, thanks,

I really don't think this was malware or spyware. Windows OS's have at the most a 256 character path/filename limit which may cause this. It isn't unusual for the temp file locations to exceed this this character limit and then it is difficult to remove them. If it happens again just use the CCleaner to remove.
