Hey Hank, that's why we are here, to help folks clean up their computers and then hopefully help them keep them clean.
The logs look good. There are quite a few unnecessary programs running however and to speed the computer I would recommend stopping some of these from auto starting. All I am recommending can easily be run manually;
ehTray....Enables the user to access Windows Messenger from within Windows Media Center Edition
SigmatelSysTrayApp...Related to Sigmatel_Audio_sound_card This program is not required to start automatically as you can run it when you need to.
SunJavaUpdateSched...SunJava update checker. Can be run manually.
HP Software Update...can easily be run manually
Dell QuickSet...Dell taskbar icon allowing you to quickly change settings
DMXLauncher...Your choice, not required. Part of Dell's Media Experience, a multimedia suite which offers the user functionality to organise and play music and digital video files.
QuickTime Task...System Tray access to Apple's "Quick Time" viewer from version 5 onwards not required to run at start up.
MSMSGS...Windows Messenger Utility...NOT MSN Messenger. If you don't use Windows Messenger, this can be annoying. Available via Start -> Programs. Go to Windows Messenger > Tools > Options > Preferences and uncheck "Run this program when Windows starts"
Frankly, also I would recommend UNINSTALLING AdAware. The newer version is just not as reliable as previous versions, plus it now has a service which runs all the time in the background.
Keep Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware program for weekly scans. It is proving to be an excellent tool.
I would also recommend installing SpywareBlaster
Excellent protection program and it DOES NOT run in the background.
You can disable those unnecessary start ups and services using another great FREE program CodeStuffStarter
Go ahead and remove Deckards, if you haven't all ready done so and also combofix.
Let me know how things are running.
Judy
