    Are you going to use a free one or a paid one, Dave? The best
    non-commercial server I know is news.individual.net, and it costs less
    than USD$15/year. Most of the truly free servers don't have great
    retention, and they miss a lot of posts.

    No. I don't know of any good free or low-cost binary news servers.

    AstraWeb... I have a 90 gigabyte indefininte download account for a
    reasonable one time price of $25, and after 3 years still have about
    85 gigs left to go. They definitely have the binaries.

    This provider http://www.teranews.com/ came recommended in a DSL
    forum.
    It is free for 50mb daily, $7.95 for 250 mb daily. I have no idea how
    good it is. You can also pay more and get more
    And, I have no idea how many messages in how many newsgroups it takes
    to meet those limits
