I have a laptop and recently the keyboard has stopped functioning, I know this because I couldn't get any response even during BIOS. As a temporary solution I bought a USB keyboard to use, which does respond in BIOS. The problem is I have an administrator password on my computer, but the keyboard is not recognized by windows, and is thus non-responsive.
Solution 1:
The CD rom is not currently working on this computer either (I know I know, it's on its last leg) so I was wondering if it was possible to create a USB bootable drive that can somehow load the drivers (or whatever it needs, it's a very standard keyboard) prior to the password request so that I could log in
Solution 2:
If I could somehow load directly to a command prompt perhaps I could add the drivers manually, or disable my password so that the plug and play could detect and set the keyboard up whenever I logged in.
So, what do you guys think? Any insights? Thanks in advance.
