I bought a pcmcia drive back in 1997 i think, anyway, i just bought a new one and it made no difference in speed. I'm using it for my laptop data card in my desktop. I thought the older might be speeding at 1.0 and the new one would be at 2.0 like USB works. ps... it is much faster in the laptop, not sure why.
