Hello, currently I am trying to help a friend via email figure out what's wrong with his emachines-n10 laptop. From what I can tell, it seems to be a problem with the ac adapter, the problem is that the replacement costs $50, which seems a but much. I looked around online and found [edit link removed]this, which seems to be the cheapest you can buy it.

However, after further searching, I also managed to find [edit link removed]this cord for a more recent notebook which is a lot cheaper, has more power, and appears to have the same input.

I know a lot about computers, but I've done very little work with laptops so I'm not very experienced with this kind of thing. So I was just wondering if the second, cheaper could would be compatible with his laptop or would he be stuck buying the one that was designed specifically to work with it.

Thanks in advance for your help.
