In a move that is surely music to many would-be shoppers' ears, Dell has announced that it has dropped the majority of the mail-in rebates attached to its new desktops and notebooks. Instead, Dell now offers lower prices across the board to make the holiday shopping experience more fulfilling for customers. Dell first announced their change in strategy back in July.


"Rebate free doesn't mean they're getting a higher price. We're translating the savings into lower-priced products," said a Dell spokesman.
