TY....best component on my system is Norton Ghost 2003 Paired with 2 HD's makes a person almost infection proof....well at least 2-3 mins away from a clean machine. UNLIKE system restore, which only merges the previous restore point with the current state of the machine....it completely OVERWRITES my Windows install on my primary HD with a backup from my secondary HD.

WARNING: NG2003 must be updated TWICE to work with the new CPUS, and doesnt seem to work at all on machines that have a pfft "recovery partition".

As to my machine....its currently running at 3.2ghz ....up from its stock 2.6ghz with ONLY air cooling Idle temps are 26C for CPU and 24C for motherboard! AT 100% load and 16 hours stressing CPU and RAM: CPU 53C and motherboard 29C. This current overclock is 16 hours Orthos/Prime stable. Total cost for CPU, motherboard, Zalman and RAM.....$465USD at http://www.newegg.com/Index.aspx 3DMark05 score 12120....in a few months I'm going to put two 8800 GTS (SLI) (512mb version) in this comp!
Just THINK what you could do with an Intel Quad Core OSD (on screen display) courtesy of Lavalys EVEREST v4.50.1330

Here is the 16 hour run:
As you can see Core 2 failed due Illegal Summout at 15 hours 50mins.....at 1.5vcore I can get 24 hour stable @100% but the temp on these later 5000+ CPU's get near 60C which is getting TOO close to the 65C - 70C redline on this CPU...currently I opted for 1.4750vcore, which keeps it much cooler. with more exotic cooling, people have gotten this CPU to 4.1Ghz. nice OC! sorry to go off topic, but I got the qx6700/680i with dual 8800gts 640mb OC versions in sli .. cranks out some decent game play on crysis. Doesn't like to OC, but it's flippin fast for photo-editing compared to my 2400+ system

I have a similar program to ghost called tru-image from acronis. unfortunately we haven't used it LOL, just finished re-installing my brothers machine, for the fourth time... Gotta do an image of it this week, cause he overclocks it a bit and sometimes drives just pop up with errors in the array n it takes like 8 hours to rebuild..

I would have to mention; you may want to reconsidder those cards, look for a better card without going sli, as many times, the sli cards take a chunk out of your performance compared to a good single card. Hence my sig pic, "NEED MORE CPU" I'm thinking 3.6-3.9 GHZ would be needed to push the cards, but I could see a good single card putting out better numbers than sli.

I know....I'm also considering the 9000 series but Imma wait till I see the reviews and if they're any driver issues...as for your comp...OCing that CPU on that board is rather easy...you may want to check out this site: http://www.overclock.net/
with decent cooling...aka...a Zalman or better yet an Ultra 120 Extreme, people have been getting decent OC's.
    Specifically, this post: http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...ce-boards.html

Like how does 3.8Ghz sound? The rig in this screenie is water cooled.
