    Spybot reports REGISTRYFIX

Apart from the usual sprinkling of tracking cookies, Spybot this
morning reported RegistryFix. I removed it, but I would now like to
    learn more please.

I think this is somehow associated with a free registry repairing
utility I installed (on recommendation) last week, called RegCure, but
    can't be sure.

BTW, am I mistaken, or does Spybot not offer the option of studying
*details* of its entries, like 'RegistryFix'?

    I believe RegCure is greyware.

I guess I am one of 10% that has Regcure on their PC. Could you bring me up
to date by explaining why this program is a scam and what are the downside
    to having it installed.
    Thanks in advancem

Me too please, the OP. What is 'greyware'? And, specifically, why does
Spybot report REGISTRYFIX.EXE as a threat?

Also, anyone know the answer to my other question, i.e. does Spybot
not let you see any details, like some other programs do?

Put regcure and scam into google see what you get. Regcure is one of those
terrible pieces of software which claim to do one thing and do something
else. Anything it actually repairs is more likely a coincidence. They are
usually installed following a muppet clicking on a popup telling them their
security is vulnerable click here to fix it.

I ahve some magic beans for sale, if you want i can get my nigerian auntie
    to sell them to you.

But does anyone have an answer to my actual question please? I'm sure
that Regcure is every bit as useless as many people say. But I haven't
seen a single solid piece of objective evidence (in contrast to idle
rumour and speculation) that it is either a virus or a trojan or any
    other sort of malware.

In which case, why does Spybot report Regfix.exe as a threat?
