    Hmm...

    MalwareBytes AntiMalware v1.09
    http://malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

My 2 cents on the removal of the nagscreen,

I don't think it's kind of you or anyone else to intentionally alter a
program if the creator didn't specifically specify you should do so.
These programs that have nagscreens usually don't cost much to legally
remove it, by registering the application. That small fee helps to cover
the cost of development and research.

This only applies to companies that don't like you to do this, obviously

Because I favor AntiVirŪ and follow advice given by experts frequenting
this and other specialized n/groups; AntiVirŪ is a superiour product.

It's not possible to buy AVG Antispyware standalone anymore, the
antivirus and antispyware engines were merged into a new and more
efficient one (in the 7.5 there were 2 different engines).
AVG 8.0 Free should be out in the coming months, meanwhile you can use
    the free version free.grisoft.com

I find these sites not entirely helpful, as some antiviruses might perform
well under lab conditions, but in the wild are terminally awful, examples
are of course norton internet security, where the bloated software is
crippled and doesnt force scan the system by default.

The best way of testing would involve giving a hundred teenage kids internet
access, and leaving them to it for seven days.

I installed Avira AntiVir on a friends computer, and it's not a nag
screen, it's friggin adware. Pops up after a update.

I guess for free, it's just a minor inconvenience to click the ad away
    after an update.
