I've never heard of Norton Clean Sweep, the version on my computer is Norton Internet Security 2008.

I have installed the newest version of Java and verified the installation, I also attached the HJI log.

When I checked Add/Remove list, I noticed that there was a Java(TM) SE Development Kit 6 Update 1, I think I need this when I use Netbean to compile some Java programs. I wonder if I should update it or uninstall it. Without it , can I still compile some Java programs by Netbean?

Newest version JDK 6 Update 5 with NetBeans 6.0.1.

    Bascially your HJT log doesn't look too bad, EXCEPT it doesn't show that your Norton program is actually running, the only thing showing is the updater portion of the program, that is NOT Protection. It should be running all the time. Also you don't show a firewall running either;
    Following items can be fixed;
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
(Description: A hidden or missing adware entry.)

The following are not necessarily spyware/malware, but we suggest you place a check mark next to the following entries, as these programs may be taking up system resources. These O4 entries do not need to run at start up and can easily be run manually. You actually should stop them from running at start by using the program configuration, if you cannot do so, or don't know how then use a program like Mike Lin's Start Up Control Panel to stop their automatic starts.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] \"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe\" -osboot
(Description: RealPlayer scheduler. Completely unnecessary. Removing this entry will free up a small amount of system resources.)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [igfxhkcmd] C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe
(Description: Intel hotkey applet. Unnecessary. Removing this will free up a small amount of system resources.)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] \"C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05\bin\jusched.exe\"
(Description: Sun Java update scheduler. Checks for updates. Not necessary. Removing this entry will free up a small amount of system resources.)

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Weather] C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe 1
(Description: WeatherBug. If you are using the free version, it is ad-supported. Removing this entry will free up a small amount of system resources.)
    This should also be removed
    O8 - Extra context menu item: Quick Search (Yisou.com) - res://C:\WINDOWS\downlo~1\CnsMinEx.dll/1003

You can fix the remove the above items from HJT by running it again, and placing checkmarks next to each. Then click the Fix Checked button.
    Exit HJT.
Reboot the computer and ENABLE your anti-virus program AND your firewall and then run HJT one more time and post back with that new log.

I do enable my Norton program, and I double-checked its status in Norton Protection Center, both Anti-virus protection and personal firewall were on.
I don't know why the log doesn't show that.

I fixed the items you mentioned by HJT and restarted the computer.
After I logged in for several minutes, an Application Error window popped up saying that
The instruction at "0x02e27540" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

I clicked on OK. Then everything seemed normal. I had no idea what this error meant. Also I attached new HJT log.

Sorry but your Norton DOES NOT show that is active and no firewall is showing as active either.
You HJT log shows multiple Norton files which are supposed to run as a service when your computer boots up are missing, therefore, it is not running.
If I were you I would completely Uninstall Norton and then Reinstall.
Now in order to do this you will need to go through Add/Remove and uninstall all instances of Norton AND Symantec that are showing. But since some files are missing you may have to use your Install disk first, reinstall and then your should UNINSTALL it all. After doing this then reinstall, update and enable it.

Norton is still not configured to run at Start Up. You have to go into the program and turn it on. It should be showing at all times next to the clock. It is NOT running or was not when this HJT was done.

But atcually I don't need to go into the program and turn it on, every time I start the computer, the Norton will be turned on and showing all the time next to the clock.

Anyway I just looke into the settings for Norton and fount that an option that "Load Auto-Protect during system startup" was not choosen. So I checked that option and restarted the computer, and run HJT scan again (with Norton running). Here is the log, but it is not much different from the last one.

The email scanner portion seems to be running now but the rest of it still doesn't show that it is activated.

I just had a live chat with a representative from Norton Support.

    His explanation was as follow:

the Norton Internet Security 2008 installed on your computer is made up of the advanced technology and all its process runs under the cover in background not allowing the other programs to identify the presence of the anti virus program, this is the protection for the symantec files from being hijacked or modified.

this issue will remain the same even when you run the Symantec online scan, it will not find the anti virus program installed, though it will be working fine.

I tried the Symantec Security Check online. I passed three kinds of check, hacker exposure check, windows vulnerability check and trojan horse check, but failed antivirus product check.

What do you think of it?

If that is what they say, then guess it is ok. You have lots of stuff running at start which is unnecessary but other than that, is the computer working ok?
