    Spyware changing system settings

I have posted in another topic, but really need help with this, in saturday 22 march 2008 I got hit bad by spyware that went right past everything I'm running, and is hiding pretty well, the ones I know for sure that are on it are:

180 search assistant and thier variants
    nCase
    seekmo
    2nd thought (stcloader)
    zango

and 1 more I can't remeber, I tired all my programs to remove them but nothing has worked and even tried to manually remove it but it keeps coming back.

I am currently waiting for a Tech rep from CA to call me sometime soon to try and help. The most annoying thing I found is that it has disabled my taskmgr and told me my administrator did it, funny I tought that was me being there's only one account on it.

    Please help

    Go to HERE
Follow all the instructions on that link, run all programs requested, save all the logs, and at the end then run HiJackThis. Save the HiJackThis log also and post it back here with all the others. Son't worry about the taskmanager for now, we will get it back...be sure to tell your administrator that we will be able to do this...

I will run all this stuff and post it later this evening, once I get done playing navy for the day, and the administrator says ok......

    finished all scans and cleaning

I ran all scans, microsoft walware removed 1, and malwarebytes removed a bunch, so far so good. U could not get ESET to run, I ran F-Secure instead. I am attaching all the request files. Can't get highjack this to upload I'll cut and paste in to another reply.

Before you do anything else...you have portions of the two anti-virus programs running, this will definitely slow your computer.
    There are two showing in your HJT log;
CA Internet Security Suite which includes; a personal firewall and antivirus, antispyware, and antispam protection. It seems to be fully installed and running.
You also show at least portions of Norton Internet Security Suite. Did you previously have this on the computer? How did you uninstall it? Some of it's files are still running on the computer.
I suggest that you run the Norton Removal Tool
Be absolutely certain that you run the correct one. They have one available for each version so make sure you have the right one.
Don't worry about having your product key because you won't be reinstalling it. You just want to get rid of the left overs.

You also are running at least TWO firewalls. The one included in the CA Internet Security Suite and also Tiny Personal Firewall...UNLESS this is the one included in the CA Suite...IS IT? or did you download this separately? Because of these two entries I am also wondering if the Norton firewall is still active AND is the built in Windows Firewall still turned on or, hopefully, it is turned off.
You obviously have tried to make your computer very secure, but now it is, if possible, TOO secure. No wonder it is slow and honestly, no wonder you ended up with all of these infections. Too many security programs can actually make your computer LESS secure because they fight each other and miss the nasties coming onto the computer.
Get rid of all of those I have mentioned EXCEPT the CA Internet Security Suite. That is and will be your main line of defense.
Remove all those, REBOOT, then do a new HJT scan and save the log and post back with it and I will give you more clean up to do.

    update

well I guess al this was for nothing, tried to remove Norton and now the computer is really jacked up can't access anything. I get an error message that says proccess stopped due to restrictions on the computer. I have have one program I can open and that is Xoftspy. I can't even read a text file, but the good news is taskmgr is back..... But that is the only systems function I can get to work, I think it might be time to just start over, I hate to do it because the guide you guys have posted worked. Unless you have a sugestion to get Xp working again

Change users if you can. Xoftspy really isn't a top notch program, one we never recommend.
Can you boot to safe mode? Removing the norton program should not have caused any of this.
This all sounds as if you have changed either users or heightened security settings some way this is why you should see if you can change users.

I can boot into safe mode, but same result. I just posted a new topic on the XP side didn't know if I could address both here. After unistalling Norton and rebooting to finish it, that was the result, nothing works and everything gives the same "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system admin..."
