    I've installed A3.96.
    Glad you were on top of things and DO have the right driver. See the one you have was just released on 12/11/06. Good Job!
    One thing I don't believe any of us had you check was services to be sure your Windows Audio is enabled.
    Go to Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Scroll down and be certain that Windows Audio Services is set to Automatic and Started.

    I don't think the audio was being caused by it being turned off, because it gives me a different error message when it's turned off. But it has been getting turned off randomly lately. But I don't understand how come my audio, wireless connection, firewall and many other applications are being turned off without my knowledge.
