    Great!

Let's try this and see if it does the job:
-- Download the attached Fixit.zip to your desktop and extract the Fixit Folder to your desktop.
-- Open the Fixit folder an double click on RunThis
That ought to unregister and delete vpshell2.dll. Then, try again to remove that last vestige of Symantec. You might need to reboot.

Let us know of any problems or error messages!

    Best Luck

    PP,

I believe I followed the directions exactly. After clicking on the RunThis, a window looking like it was DOS-based popped up and then I got an error message that said 'Load LIbrary("C:\Program") failed. The specified module could not be found'.

    Thanks,
    Nicolette

Try this - Open the Fixit Folder and DoubleClick on Fixit.reg and allow it to merge into the registry.
Then try again to remove that pesky Symantec remnant.

    PP,

I'm really sorry...am not understanding the directions I don't think. I have an icon that says fixit, but not sure if that is the same as fixit.reg. How do I allow it to merge?

    Thanks,
    Nicolette

    No worries!

Download the attached Fixit.reg to the desktop.
DoubleClick on it an you should get a message asking you to if you want to merge the contents into the registry.
Allow the change and the reboot and see if you can then delete that last remnant of Norton.

    PP,

I have to be doing something wrong. When I opened the fixit.reg I first chose 'save' and saved it to my desktop. Then I double-clicked and chose 'run' and got an error message that says Fixit.reg is not a valid Win32 application.

    Thanks,
    Nicolette
