Need Help

I'm really sorry...am not understanding the directions I don't think. I have an icon that says fixit, but not sure if that is the same as fixit.reg. How do I allow it to merge?

No worries!

Download the attached Fixit.reg to the desktop.
DoubleClick on it an you should get a message asking you to if you want to merge the contents into the registry.
Allow the change and the reboot and see if you can then delete that last remnant of Norton.

I have to be doing something wrong. When I opened the fixit.reg I first chose 'save' and saved it to my desktop. Then I double-clicked and chose 'run' and got an error message that says Fixit.reg is not a valid Win32 application.

There should not be a "run" option - try RightClicking Fixit.reg and, if it is there at the top of the list, select Merge

Let me know what happens.

Nicolette, when you double click you should get a message similar to the one I have attached. You just click Yes.

Thanks so much for your patience with me this far. I think one of the programs I have downloaded in the last few days is causing problems with me doing this. I saved the fixit.reg to my desktop, then I right-click on it and see Merge. I then left-click on that and I get a pop-up that says:

Open File-Security Warning
The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software? I then choose run and get an error that says: Fixit.reg is not a valid Win32 application.

what am I doing wrong?

See if you can do it this way.....
If you click Start, Run, and enter regedit and click OK! Does the Windows Registry Editor open up?

If so click File, Import and navigate to the fixIt.reg file on your Desktop and select it.
