    Test post

I really have a problem and will post if this actually works. I logged in and typed a lengthy description of my problem already. I hit submit new thread, then it said I wasn't logged in and my post was gone. It's not the first time that has happened. I'm really frustrated

It could possibly have been the cookie settings in your browser. Type out your post in an external editor and then copy and paste it when you are finished.

Thanks, I set my FireFox to accept cookies until I close FireFox. so it seems the cookies would not be a problem but your idea sounds smart! That way It's still available to me. Now I need to learn how to do that!
Would I use Notebook or something? I have Office.

You can use any text editor, Notepad, wordpad, office, etc...

I set my FireFox to accept cookies until I close FireFox.
That IS your problem If it acceptes cookies until you close it that means when you close it they are gone. Choose Keep Until they Expire.

OK I'm confused. It seems like you're saying the cookies need to be on to be able to post, and I thought I was getting that by allowing them while Firefox is open. Why does it hurt to delete them, after I quit surfing?

Cookies and internet cache is the way the internet get's on your computer, as cached; temporary, or "live" So that you can see whats on a website; as well as login information for places like this, so that you can post or see "new posts"; they see you have a cookie from them already and say; ok don't need to download such and such images; look on c:\internet_cache\day one two three etc... "hypothetically"... so it's important to clear your temp cache, cookies etc, that way you don't have "out dated" cached files taking front stage to the up to date content you are trying to access...

Speed of surfing is mainly dependant on your service provider and other things like traffic load at a particular time of day etc....
