which software is better / more efficient:
Spyware Doctor
Spybot - Search & Destroy
any opinion?

Well, Spybot is free and Spyware Doctor isn't. I use Spybot,
Spywareblaster and Adaware (all free) and never get spyware. I also use
Firefox with noscript and adblock, plus I use a Hosts file to bock many
malicious websites. Then of course I also have AVG Free anti-virus and
Windows Defender. Do all that and you should be pretty secure against
malware without having to pay a penny. If Spyware Doctor costs money I
would expect it to be better than Spybot but I only used it once some
years ago and can't say I noticed it being better or not. How does one
tell if one app is better than the other if there is no spyware on my
system to find?
