Is my graphics card any good?

im using a NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 model 64

i know its quiet dated but is it still good compared to some that are about 6-12 months old, ive just brought a DVD RW drive and will be looking to DVD disk games such enemy territory: quake wars, COD4 etc. would this card be sufficient to run these games smoothly, if not please suggest some others which are not expensive about £40-£50 would be fine.

Post some more information about your system, specifically which brand/model motherboard, that way we can determine which cards would be compatible; the newest games will be choked to death by the m64.

your proably gonna be limited to agp cards, all the newest cards are PCI-E, i think there was a ATi X2600s in agp though

i have an AMD athlon processor, 799MHz and 640mb of RAM. how do i check which motherboard im using?

download that and go under the mainboard tab and tell us what you have, i would be a bit concerned about newer games on your system as it is, the cpu and ram might become a bottleneck too

its a MSI K7T Pro, video card is gonna have to be agp

i have found a ATi 2600XT and Nvidia 7300GT on newegg, i think those are about as far as your going to be able to take it video card wise, with the KT133 chipset your going to be limited to 100 bus CPUs, may wanna find a 1.2 or 1.3 GHz 100 FSB chip and the memory there wont be much you will be able to do to get it faster other than add on some more

power supply might also become an issue with newert cards because they are very power happy

so i have the kt133 chip set at the moment? so basicaly buy one of those 2 grahpics/video cards u suggested -
HIS ATI Radeon HD 2600XT / 512MB DDR3 / AGP / Graphics Card - that comes up as a HD one, i do not need a HD one. £100
Zotac nFire Geforce 7300GT / 512MB 128bit / PCI-E / Graphics Card - is only £45 ( is this one much better than the on ei have now?)

the newer games will support those video cards but i cannot tell you if they are gonna run smooth or not on your system even with those cards
