I've always greatly disliked IE and still do to this day. But I needed it for work reasons. It will be coming off just as soon as I finish my homework

Well, last night the fiancee capitalized on my computer to play the Sims. But today I got to removing it and WOW. The startup hang time dropped from over 1 minute to roughly 20 seconds. Also, now when I click on a link in my email in T-bird it doesn't pause before opening it up in FF. Which it did after I installed IE7.
Of course after I removed it windows updates was like WOAH, You need this. NOPE. not until I find a HUGE need for it. I don't use IE for ANYTHING at home so.

Curiosity....What all did you stop running at Start?
For now, i've just uninstalled IE7. Nothing else. Haven't had time.

Well, now I'm at a loss. It still takes forever, but it's now leading me to believe that it has to do with some system process not something that runs when a user logs on. if I let my computer sit for a minute before I try to log on it logs on w/ no lag whatsoever...I'm going to try unchecking a few more things in Autoruns and get back to you in a few.
I have attached my autoruns log as well as my Belarc advisor log. Judy, TL, and PP you have PM.

How many users actually must log on? If the lag seems to come there then....
Three people use my computer, I have no log on for anyone and start is super fast.
I have 2 separate logons, mainly because i can have multiple simultaneous user logons. Also so that my fiancee and I can have "our space." But it's been setup like this long before the problems.

Ok, then...
Notice the lag time is between Tcpip...this is a normal event number
and Fax Service Control Stopped.
Do you use the machine for faxing? This service gets installed if fax capable modem is installed in your machine.
If you DO NOT send faxes with the machine;
Go to Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services.
Scroll down to Fax Services and set it to Manual.
Click Apply and exit Services.
