The log looks much better. Are things working better? You can also disable that SunJava Auto update using the StartUpControl Panel. SunJavaUpdateSched Do the updates manually.

Things do look better. This isnt my computer and I am currently not at the location were the computer is right now. Mostly likely if I can not walk the person through it over the phone, I will not be able to get to the machine until the weekend again.
The problem that I am seeing on the machine (and one of the original problems that started me on the path) is that Norton 2006 does not seem to like something that seems to be coming from the DSL modem or AT&T etc... It seems to happen 10 minutes or so after startup and sometime faster, if you start browsing the internet.
It flags the issue with a "worm detected" When does happen it will block all outbound and inbound information; locking the system down and internet access is cut.
Now the "more info" show a Portscan was tyring to be done it picks up the Gateway from modem and the IP DHCP address from the machine and it also tells you what port was trying to be scanned. The port tried to be accessed is different each time. Is Norton just crazy?? This apparently started around the first of December.
Any ideas.
