All in all your logs aren't too bad. Couple things you need to do first however. First of all go here and download the latest version of SunJava. I recommend that you download the offline install. Save it to the desktop.

Next go to Add/Remove and Uninstall any Java programs you may find there.
Also look for Viewpoint and if you find it Uninstall
Look also for Incredimail and uninstall that if you find it.

Next reboot in Safe Mode and go to the following locations on the computer and delete the files noted in RED
    Don't delete the full folder it is contained in, JUST the file noted in RED here;
    C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\
    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\ImInstaller\IncrediMail\imloader.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\imloader.exe

Once you have done that reboot to Normal Mode.
Double click the Java program you saved on the desktop and install it.
Next go to this site and verify the program was correctly installed.

One thing your log shows is that you have an extraordinary amount of programs loading automatically when you start the computer. These will slow the start up and consume a large amount of resoursces. All of these I note can be run manually when you need them.
To control these autostarts I would like you to download Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel and install it. Once installed you will find it by going to Start, Control Panel. It is located in the Control Panel with an Icon that looks like a computer and it is labeled Start Up.
Open the program and go through each TAB and locate the programs listed below and remove the checkmarks from those noted.

AutoTKit>>> This program is not required to start automatically as you can run it when you need to. It is advised that you disable this program so that it does not take up necessary resources.
Unclear what purpose it serves - but there's a known issue with Internet Explorer Toolbar settings not being saved with it enabled

BJCFD>>> BroadJump Client Foundation. Broadband troubleshooting software installed by various companies. Not required and you can remove it via Add/Remove

IPInSightLAN 02>>>Installed with Verizon DSL accounts. IP Insight is a Quality of Service monitor and diagnostic tool that isn't required .This one constantly "phones home" and wastes resources.

mmtask>>>Part of MusicMatch Jukebox - digital music player / CD burner and ripper / music organizer / playlist creator. This program is not required to start automatically as you can run it when you need to. It is advised that you disable this program so that it does not take up necessary resources.

    HP Component Manager
    >>>Checks the internet for updated drivers/utilities for your HP product - update manually. Disabling will remove the error "Windows can't shutdown the computer because hpcmpmgr.exe can't be ended"

HP Software Update>>>HP software updates. If a shortcut doesn't exist, create your own and run it manually doesn't need to autostart.

AlcxMonitor>>> Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor. Sypware file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions.

iTunesHelper>>> Installed with Apple's iTunes for Windows. Uses ~3-4MB of memory

QuickTime Task>>> System Tray access to Apple's "Quick Time" viewer

TkBellExe>>> Application Scheduler installed along with RealOne Player. Once installed, it runs independently of RealOne Player. Not required

NVIEW>>> This is a DLL to enable multiple display monitors on a single computer. It can be a cause of numerous problems on some computers

BackupNotify>>> Displays tray balloon backup reminder for HP Image Zone Plus.

MSMSGS>>> Windows Messenger utility. If you don't use Windows Messenger, this can be annoying. Available via Start -> Programs. Go to Windows Messenger > Tools > Options > Preferences and uncheck "Run this program when Windows starts"

HP Digital Imaging Monitor>>> HP digital imaging monitor; can be launched manually.

HP Image Zone Fast Start>>> This program is not required to start automatically as you can run it when you need to. It is advised that you disable this program so that it does not take up necessary resources.

Quicken Scheduled Updates>>> Quicken background downloading module can be updated manually

    Updates from HP
    >>>Automatically detects an internet connection and downloads any available updates. Can be done manually

    ymetray>>>Yahoo Music Utility
Once you have removed the checkmarks click OK and close the program.

    Next reboot the computer and run HiJackThis again and place checkmarks next to ALL of the following entries if they still remain;

Please note all of these R1 entries Say they are Yahoo...but they are NOT because they say http://red.clientapps in each one...what they actually are is a click through search engine which will take you not to yahoo but another page. This is minor malware but should be fixed so be sure to place checkmarks next to each one.

Once you have placed all the checkmarks click the Fix Checked Button.
    Exit HJT.
Reboot the computer and run one more HJT scan. Save the log and post that new log here.

Thanks for the reply. I will get started. I have already don the Java update. This is not my computer. So I will see what I can do and repost a HJT log. I may not be able to take care of all the start up items this time around, but will soon.

Thanks HJT log to follow soon.
