    Adaware SE

What is the situation regarding Ad-Aware SE personal? I have version
SE1R210 and have definitions dated 27/12/2007 but have not been able to
update the definition file since then.

Has SE been replaced by the 2007 version? If so do I simply run the
install file for 2007 and that will replace the SE files with 2007 files
or do I have to uninstall the SE version first?

I couldn't find any statement on the Lavasoft web site to answer my
questions. Any info about this would be appreciated.

I have the same version and just this minute downloaded the latest
definition and it is dated 27.12.2007 so it seems you already have the
    latest.

They stopped supporting it at the end of the year so you will have to go to
the new version if you want to use the free Ad-Aware 2007 program.

    Re: Adaware SE

I'm confused. Their site offers ad aware 2007 free. I already have
that. The download button seems to be for 2007 Plus, free for 30
    days.

Can I get updated definitions for my 2007 free in the future or not?
Have they quit updating the free version?

I guess all good things come to an end.

    Thanks, Joan.

Did you install over the top of SE or did you uninstall SE and then
    install 2007?

To be honest I can't remember, I tried it when it first came out and it
still had a few problems so I went back the SE version and I haven't got
around to putting it back yet as I only used it once a week on a Monday so I
have a few days before I need to do it. <g>

    Re: Adaware SE

Uninstall SE and then install 2007. That is the safest way to install any
program. I did have SE and 2007 running at the same time though.

Ad-Aware 2007 does not run under Windows 98SE. So I manually download
the latest updates for Ad-Aware SE from here:

    Re: Adaware SE

I'm guessing Lavasoft has turned off the "Check for updates now" link
you see in the Ad-Aware application itself.

You may manually download and unzip the SE1R211 (02.01.2008) update for
    Ad-Aware SE here:
    http://www.lavasoft.com/support/securitycenter/blog/
The extracted file goes into the
    c:\program files\lavasoft\ad-aware se personal
folder (if you have installed Ad-Aware SE in it's default location).

    Re: Adaware SE

Why not just download the free ad-aware 2007 program. You can d/l it and
execute it without removing the old ad-aware se program.
