I am a Mac user who recently purchased a MacBook, capable of running
both Mac's OS X & Windows. I have partitioned the hard drive and
installed both operating systems, Leopard (Mac) and Windows XP Home
Edition SP2.
Coming from the Mac world, I have zero experience with anti-virus and
spyware software. I don't intend to use my Windows partition all that
much. Basically I installed it to learn about Windows and perhaps use a
few apps that don't exist for Macs; fully 90% of my time on the internet
will be using the OS X partition and not Windows.
I have installed ZoneAlarm, which I got free for one year and the free
version of AVG. As I began to explore them, I believe they do the same
thing: provide anti-virus protection and anti spyware.
I saw this on this usenet group;

There are those that have mixed/matched two AV products by tweaking them.
However, it is NOT a suggested method and such an act has not been
proven to provide extra protection, only resource loss.

My question: Should I indeed be running only one of these applications
and, if so, which one would folks recommend???
Many thanks,
Carl
