Any chance I can get help with Mac OS X ?

I've just purchased an iMac G3 running OS X version 10.1.5 When I started it up, it seems to run fine except the only web browser loaded is Internet Explorer (for mac). I would like to run Safari (I guess that's the Mac browser) or Mozilla Firefox. The problem is it says I already have Safari (but I cannot find it) and it will not let me run Firefox.

Have you done a search for Safari on the Mac? What error(s) do you get when trying to run Firefox?

When I try to launch Safari (which I downloaded from the Apple website because I could not find it on the OS), it says Error 35 Could not launch because app. is already in use.
When I try to open Firefox (install) I can make it to the License acceptance screen, once I click "accept" a box comes up "DiskCopy" saying "unable to verify firefox 2.0.0.6 dmg
Maybe the verification is set to high....I just am not sure how to navigate through Mac. It's probably very simple, I'm just not looking in the right place.

Also, IE for mac is too old of a version to lookup even the simplest of pages ....even yahoo homepage displays all jumbled and ask to upgrade to a newer version like Safari or Firefox

Yes. The version of IE you are most likely running is 5.5. There are no later versions for Mac. This version of IE lacks a lot of encryption support as well as standard script/html support.

I will do some more investigation when I get to my mac this evening.

In the mean time, please download the latest version of Firefox from here. Try installing that and let us know how it goes.

I tried to download Firefox from the link you provided. Unfortunatly, this was the same link I had originally had used. Same thing as above! Could it be certificate verification is set too resrtictive? Seems like every time I try to navigate from one page to the next, I'm told "this page is unsecure do you want to proceed, or "this page is secure dou want to proceed", or some other do want to proceed - Yes or No.

    I'm grasping I know....but I've got to believe it's something simple.....
Thanks for your time, you are very genorous!

Apparently (I called Apple Support) the problem is due to the Operating system (OS X 10.1.5). This OS cannot support Safari/firefox. I tried to download an archived version of Netscape, unfortunatly it was just as out-of-date. Apple's solution was upgrade ro OS X 10.3 (or 10.4).
Is there anyplace I can find a free (or low cost) OS? I bought this computer on the cheap and only want to use it to browse the web and email.
    Any suggestions?

Try the following browser. I forgot that FF and Safari won't work with less than 10.2.x

This is Mozilla 1.7.13 and should work.
