    Best Christmas Song Ever!

Absolutely the BEST CHRISTMAS SONG EVER!.... Christmas Baby Please Come Home by Darlene Love. Every year since 1986 she performs this song on the Dave Letterman show, on his last show before Christmas. He says it is his favorite part of Christmas, mine too It isn't Christmas until I hear Darlene Love sing this song!... Darlene Love singing Christmas Baby Please Come Home!

Yeah, it is a beautiful song indeed! It sounded familiar so I think I heard it before but never knew who sang it. Since I am not Christian and am not customed to Xmas, Xmas songs and the religious side of the this holiday never really meant much to me but I love the joyful and jolly notions and feelings this holidays brings to me and to everyone one around and this song is definitely a great song whether it is a Xmas song or not...thanks for sharing this Judy!!

Ok, now, here are the things I want for Santa to bring me this Xmas....

    lol!

Darlene Love has been around since before most of those here were born. She looks and sounds pretty good for 66 doesn't she? She began in the late '50s with The Blossoms who were backup singers to most of the "biggies" back then....including Sam Cooke, Dionne Warwick, The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, and Sonny and Cher to name just a few. They worked for producer Phil Spector(yeah, the guy recently on trial for murder) and she sang lead vocals on many of the biggest hits of the 1960s, including Spector's own "Da Doo Ron Ron" though he later erased her voice and re-recorded it with another gal singing the lead and released it as being sung by the Crystals, which was a huge group in the '60s. But many of the songs that were supposedly hits by the Crystals were actually sung by the Blossoms with Darlene doing the leads in most of them including "He's A Rebel". The Blossoms were also a huge part of Elvis Presley's '68 Comeback Special.
She appeared on Broadway in Grease, Leader of the Pack and Hairspray
She finally sued Spector in the mid-90's for back royalties for many of those songs and she won a judgement against him for over $250,000. She also played Danny Glover's wife in all of the Lethal Weapon movies.
Can you tell I am a long time fan of hers? Sorry, but you can't beat that '60s music!
