    Have you updated the Java and uninstalled Viewpoint as requested?
    And stopped those unnecessary start up items?

    Yes, everything you have suggested, I've completed

    (1) Remove My Way Search Assistant
    * Close all open Web browsers
    * Click Start- Control Panel- Add or Remove Programs
    * Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon
    * Click Remove a program
    * Click My Way Search Assistant
    * Click the Change/Remove button
    * Follow the prompts

    (2)
    * From the Add/Remove list, click MyWebSearch (If not listed, go to 3)
    * Click the Change/Remove button
    * Follow the prompts

    (3)
    Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility . Install the program, then start it. Scroll down the list and click My Way Search Assistant entry, click the Remove button.

    I would then like you to update the AVG Anti-spy program.
    Once you have done that please boot to Safe Mode
    Using the F8 Method
    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the machine first starts again it will generally list some equipment that is installed in your machine, amount of memory, hard drives installed etc. At this point you should gently tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu.
    3. Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.
    Once in Safe Mode please open AVG Anti-spy and run a Full System Scan. Allow it to FIX everything it finds and save the log.
    Reboot to normal mode and post back here with that log.

    Sorry it took so long...Holidays are crazy around here. I couldn't find MyWebSearch or My Way Search Assistant in any of the places you told me to check. I ran AVG in safe mode, and the reportis attached.

    Looks pretty good. Run an online Kaspersky scan and save the log and post back here with it. It doesn't fix anything but gives a pretty good picture.
    Then also run a new HJT scan and post the log.
