Just one problem with the Mozilla Firefox though .....

    Firefox 2.0.0.9 remote DoS vulnerability

Mozilla provides Firefox 2 for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X in a
variety of languages. A stability update released on 1st November 2007
corrected several problems that were found in the previous release,
Firefox 2.0.0.8. A new flaw discovered in the lastest Firefox 2.0.0.9
allows a remote attacker to crash the browser causing a DoS. (more...)

AND IT GOES ON AND ON ....so that the whole arguement that Firefox is
safer than Internet Explorer (IE) is now one of two things. Either it
is a complete security novice promoting what they heard from the past
or an actual person(s) involved in crimewares.

Here's the truth about the most secure and safest browser in the world
    - and the "common sense" arguement....

Number one and right up front is that you can not use ANY alternative
browser for many of Microsoft Services and the most up-front and in-
your-face is Windows Updates which includes not only Critical Security
Updates, but also many, many Updates and Upgrades and driver updates
to many software programs installed on the computer. Many enhancements
are sent out through Windows Updates to improve the reliability and
compatibilitites and general over all Optimum Performance of the
Windows Operating System (Windows OS). Again, you can not get these
through any other browser except the included Internet Explorer which
is part of the Windows Operating System.

Now here is your other 'shocker'. The Windows Operating System which
includes the Internet Explorer is the ONLY operating system in the
world to achive "Unix Certification" which is the top defintion of the
most Safest, and Secure, and optimized Operating System in the world.
Others like Apple/Mac and Linux are, and only have achieved. what is
called "Unix-Like" Operating System. This then goes to show that the
Internet Explorer is the ONLY Browser to EVER achieve the Unix
Certification.... which very, very loosely is kind of the IBM inventor
guys saying that the Windows "disk" personal computer is as reliable
as the originals which operated on Computer Cards and Computer Tape
and COBOL computer reels and the actual electronic hardware.

So other browsers are NOT rated as the world's most Safest and Secure
Browser no matter how many times these persons keep posting this. NONE
of them have ever achieved Unix Certification. Internet Explorer has.

    Unix-like

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix-like

So can we all just get along here instead of making valueless
arguements and troll-trash talking and personal attacks.... ????

The common sense arguement as well is that virtually ALL antivirus and
antispyware software was written for the Windows OS from the
beginning. There is well over a ten year history of antispyware
protecting Internet Explorer. Others can not claim that. As far as
Firefox, there are a few security utilities - one being the Earthlink
anti-phishing bar. There is SpyWare Blaster which continually adds
domains and website addresses to "Restricted Sites" in the browser
which has been described by professionals and experts as potentially
damaging in "incremental writing" into the Windows Registry which can
and will cause failure of software(s) and / or the Windows Operating
System unless stopped or defragmented. The Windows Registry was
increased in size in the Windows XP release and this is still warned
by Microsoft that the Registry has "Size Limits Imposed". So as far as
security software for alternative browsers - - - well ? Where are
    they ? ? ?

You will find a multi-billion dollar industry at your disposal for
Windows and Internet Explorer.... there are no other alternatives to
make any such claim - though now products have expanded for Linux OS
protections (Linux OS antivirus and antispyware and firewalls).

You mentioned BleepingComputerCom which clearly posts that it is
damaging and potentially problematic to use malware removal tools that
do not entirely remove a malware application such as an unwanted
spyware installation. As well the warning of using these utilities to
delete Windows Registry items with no knowledge - that a mistake can
cause and render software(s) and / or the entire Windows Operating
    System completely inoperable.

Paul, you obviously seem to be addressing your post to novices
(newbies), as obviously those in the know or experienced would reflect
what I have said - and that is why I am asking you to take into
consideration all things I shared here with you. Again, there are real
time protection conflicts that a new person would not be aware of with
the quite inferior Sybot Search and Destroy program if they installed
REAL antispyware shareware that has Real Time Protection and can cause
some real problems and in no way approach the heuristics of today's
sophisticated shareware antispyware programs such as the top rated
Webroot Spyusweeper, Trend Micro Antispyware, and CounterSpy.

I think you would agree, being apparently concerned enough to post
this message, that a false sense of security can be worst then no
security. At least with no security - a person would be aware of that.
With the false sense of security - a person would not be aware of that
and in meaning using completely inferior and damaging protections. I
hope to have made a convert to assured security measures the majority
of all computer operators have chosen as their Security Solution and a
multi-billion dollar business. With the contrary items - well can they
show any such numbers or users ? No. And this is why.... all of the
    above and more.

In not even appearing as any personal attack, I am quite sorry to say
that you offer a false sense of security and quite inferior to a real
Security Solution for today's computing. This is what I mean by making
a "convert" to that - and to stop posting as you did for the sake of
new person's and the not-in-the-know yet. Thank you, and please
continue the desire to help. Community sharing of appropriate
information that is volunteered free to users is most costly on an
open market - even hundreds of dollars an hour in Consultants or IT.

Internet Explorer 7 will run on Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2),
Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and Windows Server 2003 Service
Pack 1 (SP1). There are still 1000's of people running older OS,
    mostly W2K.
