    its cheaper to pay someone $80/month and work them 16 hours day.
    pencil company makes more money, investors are happy.
    besides, the more pencils that break, the more you buy.

    Yeah thats the problem, they only care about the money. Sure a few kids might get hurt in the process (either the end user, or factory worker) and people might die, but they're still making money.

    Don't disagree with moving this post, but I think if there's link's to the orginal article or some such thing; it should go in the news section!

    And for my comment, I'm not suprised, I've seen it come in compact flash/thumb drives and even external hardware devices "not related to storage" with "auto-play" to try to connect to the internet and download drivers and software; except windows has support and default driversthat work on the devices, and the only version of windows that allows the plug and play hardware to connect to the internet for drivers is the one that comes with the correct drivers for the devices.....

    This kind of application behaviour sets the stage for security exploits;
