    Spybot delay after scan

I'm using Spybot on my Win XP home PC. I've been meaning to ask about
this odd behaviour for months. When it finishes the scan (which it
does at a reasonable speed), there is then a very long delay, maybe
10-15 mins, during which it appears to be doing nothing, but the scan
does not yet report the finished status. Then it eventually does, and
I proceed as usual (typically just removing 4-8 tracking cookies).

What is going on during that long period please?

Look at performance and process activity in taskmanager and you will
probably find out it is doing plenty, mostly in memory. The disk light only
shows disk activity, not system activity.
