    AVG antispyware

I have this on my system, it has expired & the active shield does not work
so I use this to scan my system occasionally as an on demand scanner. Then
after a few days it tell me that it cannot connect to its service, I
uinstall reboot, re-install then it works as an on demand scanner for
another few days. The problem reappears. I am running Winxp home sp2 with
all the updates, have checked for malware using adaware, spybot, webroot
antispyware, superantispyware free version, a squared free & Norton Corp ver
10.1 - all with the latest updates, all is clear. My firewall is the latest
    Comodo.

    So why is this happening?

    Thanking all in advance

    Dee.

You have answered your own question- it has expired. Why not install the
latest up-to-date AVG for free? But it is unlikely to work while you have
Norton as well. Get rid of the bloated and expensive Norton and use the
    better program for nothing.

Check your Services for AVG Anti-Spyware Guard. It needs to be set to
    Automatic and running.

    Exactly, but why the problem?
