    Monitor trouble

    So I've got an X2gen MW19R LCD monitor. I got a 10ft Rosewill DVI-D cable to run from my Radeon x700 pro video card. When I use the DVI, all i get are these red, green, and blue squares on part of the monitor. My mouse cursor shows up, but nothing else. I have the latest ATI drivers, and the monitor is set for DVI. I'm all out of ideas. Help?

    Is this your monitor?

    If so it shows this;
    Connectors: analog RGB input

    Like any other format, DVI digital and analog formats are non-interchangeable. This means that a DVI-D cable will not work on an analog system.

    I may be wrong but this is what I found when searching. Others know more than I do about this stuff.

    You say you can see the mouse, but nothing else when plugged into DVI right? Yet it works using normal VGA...If so, it's going to be driver related not hardware...

    Maybe you actually got a "special" monitor...not sure.

    But I've read that some people have had a few issues with the new drivers....but never really looked at the exact issues.

    you may need to hook up your old monitor, set the resolution to the native resolution/frequency of the new monitor then select default plug n play monitor or something like lcd x/y resolution for the monitor driver.

    my old monitor is some pos CRT. my current monitor works just fine wit VGA, but as soon as the dvi is plugged in it craps on itself. I'm gonna try and use my roomates DVI cable to see if thats the problem. if it still doesnt work, then i'll assume its probably my monitor.
