FOA, I'll introduce myself. I'm the author of "Silent Runners.vbs".

"Silent Runners.vbs" is *not* repeat *not* open source. OTOH, it is
freeware and will remain so.

My code may NOT be stolen -- my script is duly copyrighted. The top
ten lines of my script may NOT be altered -- that constitutes the
attribution header which gives me credit for my work. My script may
NOT be hosted anywhere but my site -- I retain exclusive control over
distribution (a necessity for a script that is on its 52nd iteration).

If you can provide any links to third party hosting, I will follow up
on every single one and ensure they are promptly removed.

I'm happy to hear that. There are no limitations on use of my
(unaltered) script for teaching or private use.

that create filth and put it on the web for any kid to see: Just take a
look at some of the FILTH he's created and put on his website:

The problem is that his hosting provider won't force him to do anything
without a court order, they are the least ethical hosting company I've
ever run across.

After the complaint is filed, butts will respond by attacking the
hosting company of the complainers website and then faked email
complaints will start claiming that the complaintant stole code/media
from them and is illegally hosting it - some of the more jumpy hosting
companies will immediately take a site down instead of following the law
and allowing for countering this tactic and false claims......

OK, isn't it about time that the honest people on this and other groups
stand up for the authors of programs that Butts steals from?? We could
write Andrew's hosting company and there is enough ammunition out there
to totally discredit the stupid fool (Butts, that is). Both theft and
his porn pages.

I see he has yet another one listed on acav but no one with a
functioning brain would click on his links.

I know he did the above to David Lipman as does everyone else. So why
should the thieving code stealer get away with it?? Time to do him in.
Metaphorically speaking, of course. (G)

It's all about money and time - maybe some of the people that have
researched this path will contact you with the time/costs involved. It's
not cheap to be honest and fight piracy.

Actually, it wasn't David's site, it was a friend of David's that let
him have space and they both got screwed by the actions of the unethical
hack.

His hosting company is the only place capable of doing something and
they wash their hands of it until a court order telling them to remove
content is presented and that's where it has to get to in order to
change anything.

The only alternative is to warn people before they get screwed.
