SS constantly beats Spyware Doctor in most spyware reviews, so it's
    just fine.

I clean my cache and cookies on a regular bases, so that isn't the
problem. Seems like a false positive to me.

Good ole Google, either it doesn't post at all or it post multiple
    times.

Why don't you free yourself from the bond of the Goog. Your RoadRunner
ISP has newsgroups. Get yourself a newsreader, and log in. 'Tis free.

    http://k75s.home.att.net/tips.html#newsreaders
40tude Dialog is my favorite. It's free, too.

I know, I just use Google for the groups that I don't post in much.

More convenient since I'm online anyway/surfing.

In Dialog, I have my most frequented groups in an order I like at the
top of the list, then a separator bar, then the ones I read occasionally
below that bar. To fetch new headers, I click the one just above the
bar, hold down Shift, click the top one, and click the button to fetch.

Maybe once a day, I'll do the same to the lower group.

The newsreader and my browsers (and my web editor and email app) are
    open all day long. <g>
