    Trojan Backdoor

    My AVG found Trojan irc/backdoor.sdbot3... in
    C:\system volume information/_restore.....

    I believe it got rid of the malware, but do I now have to do something
    to prevent being reinfected if I should ever restore an earlier date
    using SystemRestore?

    Any help appreciated.

    Turn off system restore, reboot your system, and then turn system restore
    back on. This will clear all previous restore points that may be infected.
    You can then create a system restore point (after turning restore back on)
    to have a fresh one available if you need it.

    Thanks, that seemed to work okay. Actually I turned SR off and then
    rebooted twice (it seemed like a good idea at the time, I figured one
    reboot would get rid of the old bad stuff and the next reboot would
    put in a good restore point). So now I have a SR with one good
    restore point. :>)
