Spyware Terminator affiliate listed in HOSTS file?

After reading posts [here] regarding the SpywareTerminator product, I
thought I would give it a try. I noted, however, when I click the link
    on the "Downloads" page:

    http://www. spywareterminator. com/dnl/landing.aspx

for the Web Security Guard product:

    http://www. websecurityguard. com/

    that it does not load.

I then discovered an entry in the MVPS hosts file which suggests that
the Web Security Guard is not "good". Seems there may be a toolbar or
other such reason. Is there more to this story or just the toolbar?

    Comments?

Apparently SWT has added something similar to "McAfee Site
Advisour" (Web Security Guard) which is a browser add-on...if you look
down to the second download on this page http://www.spywareterminator.com/dnl/landing.aspx
    under 'FREE Spyware Terminator'
there is a download for SWT W/O the Web Security Guard.

I don't know why some software manufacturers have to mess with a
product that is just fine the way it is.

Maybe the Web Security Guard works fine, but I'll stick with McAfee
    Site Advisour.
