    Anti-Spyware Programs

    Hello,

Im new to this group and had some questions about Anti-Spyware. The
two programs I hear most about are Ad-Aware by Lavasoft and Spybot -
Search and Destroy. Ad-Aware seems easy to use and somewhat effective,
but Spybot Search and Destroy seems more in depth but it's hard to
pick out what to delete and not to delete.

Are both these programs effective? Should I use them together? If so,
is there an easier way to pick out what to delete with Spybot? Maybe
there is some programs I'm not aware of that I could use for spyware
    deletion.

    Thank you.

    For freeware check this out.

BTW, my father and I both screwed up computers in the past using
Spybot S&D. Neither of us were computer literate enough to know NOT
    what to delete.

Yes, both are effective. One deals with adware, the other with
spyware but there is an overlap of necessity.

I've never had any problems with deleting stuff in Spybot but the
first step is always to quarantine anything rather than out and out
delete it. That way you can restore anything that is needed.
