    Do you then advise that a user uncheck that option for immunize within
    the Spybot S&D interface for the hosts file (which is under
    Immunize->Windows [ ] Global (Hosts))?

    Only if you prefer not to have the Spybot entries appended to your Hosts
    file. Personally, I uncheck the option for Global (Hosts).

    Yes, the SpyBot HOSTS file is a known nuisance and will choke your browser.
