    I noted that on my system the previous hosts file was larger than that
    contained in the zip link provided. So I checked and the version 1.5 of
    Spybot Search and Destroy also posts entries to the hosts file.

    User's will need to reapply the "Immunization" from within the Spybot
    S&D application after installing each and every hosts file.

    I did not check to see if Spybot S&D duplicates any MVPS hosts entries,
    however.

    Do you then advise that a user uncheck that option for immunize within
    the Spybot S&D interface for the hosts file (which is under
    Immunize->Windows [ ] Global (Hosts))?

    Only if you prefer not to have the Spybot entries appended to your Hosts
    file. Personally, I uncheck the option for Global (Hosts).

    Yes, the SpyBot HOSTS file is a known nuisance and will choke your browser.

    Now that is a good reason to disable the Spybot hosts file integration.

    Many thanks.
