    Some of those s-video ports are actually a combined port which need an adaptor. the adaptor plugs into the "s-video" port, then you plug a real s-video cable and/or rca cables into that.

    I ran into that with my older Dell laptop..

    Sorry, I can't think of anything other since I don't really use ATI, other than my work laptop. What Knight said and Jholland pointed out, made the most sense to me anyhow.
    No obvious problems mentioned, so it has to be with the way the device is connected. I wonder if there is a way to convert the S-Video to standard VGA connector or something that would be much more likely to work in this scenario?

    i don't know i have tried everything, s-video to RCA, S-video out to scart still luck. The way i am connecting i feel is right, because it works fine with my PC. My laptop is from USA btw, and I'm connecting to TV in the UK. Are the any settings i need to change on my laptop like instead of NTSC to PAL? If so how? Thanks alot, sorry for late reply had alot of work

    Got it working using another s-video adapter i found out of nowhere lol. Thanks guys, quality a little low however . Oh well better than nothing
