    malwaredestructor? Is this crap?

    Hi,

I was searching at ask.com and clicked on a link to open in a new tab
using Firefox. Next thing I knew I had a pop-up that said something
about my computer may be running slow due to a virus. It then "claimed"
it was scanning my PC and that I was infected. I clicked cancel on the
dialog boxes and got the hell out of there.
Is this malwaredestructor site/software actually spyware?

I'm running Win XP Pro, kerio FW, avast!, and a router Just did a spybot
search and destroy scan yesterday(clean as a whistle), deleted Adaware
because I hated the tray icon I couldn't get rid of, but it too, never
found any spyware on my system.

So what is the verdict on malwaredestructer?

    Thanks

I know, I hate that icon on the Adaware 2007, I think I'm going to DL
the older version from www.oldversion.com (hope they have it!)

    http://filehippo.com/download_ad-aware/

Check the older versions in small print in the right hand column.

    1.06r, 1.06 and 1.05 are all available.
